A New Month....

Well here we are April 2010... its been 6 months since I posted. Lots of stuff has been going on over the last 6 months and most of it has definately drained my creative energy. But now's the time to get back into it... back into what makes me smile. I have missed scrapping and the connections that come with it. I have over 15000 feeds in bloglines to catch up on!!! Oh my that is going to take me awhile. I am not sure who is still sticking around here after so long. But I am back and hopefully can get the blog back up and running.

Missing in Action .....

Well it has been forever since I posted on my blog.... lots going on in my little part of the world. It has been a crazy year and I know with the madness leading up to Christmas is only going to keep on getting crazy.

I have stepped down from being a Fiskars Ambassador... I have had a fabulous 3 years and loved every minute of it. I will still be doing shows etc as a demonstrator as I just love that part of it too much. So you will still see me at the shows etc.

Just come back last week from 10 days on the sunny Gold Coast with my gorgeous girlfriend Sim. So awesome to spend time with her and her beautiful family. Miss her like crazy!! On my way home I got to catch up with my other 2 gorgeous friends Nat and Lori. So great to see you both and spend some time with you. Love you guys so much.

So I am still on leave from work.... this week and next week to go. I have had such an awesome break and so don't wanna go back to work. I could get used to this :)

Well it's been awhile since I shared a layout too so here is a simple one that I finished this morning.

Designer Garden....

    Always love Designer Garden time at Two Peas In A Bucket. Always so much inspiration.
Some of my favourites include:

• Family - Wendy - love the simplicity of this layout.
• Pearly Mae - Brooke - such a sweet layout. Love the stitching and the squares.
• Portia - Sande - white background.. love it. And love the arrow.
• Queen Bee - Jamie - too cute! Love the cluster of everything.

Create....

A cute and fun layout that highlights the yummy chocolate cake that my husband was made on his last birthday. 

Finleys Estate papers and embellishment suit the layout perfectly. 

Edges of the patterned paper have been sanded and then detailed along the edges with penwork. 

Using Fiskars border punch have punched out a co-ordinating piece of paper to go along under the bottom edge of the main photo. Fiskars Squeeze circle punches to make an embellishment which has been finished off with a co-ordinating sticker in the centre. Journalling on a shipping tag and letter stickers for the title.

I tend to keep all the Birthday cards, Mothers Day cards etc and never really know where to put them. A few years ago I came across a fabulous idea of a card holder constructed out of chipboard and scrapbook paper and embellishments.

Step 1: Cut your chipboard to size. I made my chipboard pieces large enough to hold the big cards that you may receive. I cut my pieces of chipboard 7.5" x 10".

Step 2: Glue your pieces of chipboard to your paper. I used the Cloud 9 Finleys Estate collection. Ensure to cover your chipboard pieces all the way to the edges with glue.

Step 3: Wrap the edges of your paper around the chipboard and stick down using double sided tape.

Step 4: Cut a co-ordinating piece of patterned paper to finish off the inside covers of the chipboard.

Step 5: Ink the edges of your chipboard covers and put a hole in the top left hand corner using the Fiskars Hole Punch.

Step 6: Decorate the front cover using embellishments and rub-ons for the name.

Step 7: Punch holes in the cards and thread through them with ribbon.

Step 8: Finish off by tying ribbon around the card holder to keep the cards in place.

Create ...

Ok I'll admit it I love circles! Love using them as embellishments on my pages. Circles also work so well on cards too.

I used the Fiskars Squeeze Circle Punches here in 2 sizes. The circles were then sanded along the edges and then also brushed with ink along the edges as well. The edges of the card I used penwork for the border and also inked the edges as well.

I used the gorgeous Sweetest Bug Papers from Heidi Grace.

This layout celebrates a friendship with my gorgeous friend Donna.

This layout features papers and embellishments from the Heidi Grace Sweetest Bug collection. (My new favourite collection!)

I have focussed again on "circles". Using the Fiskars Squeeze punches in 2 sizes I have made flowers. The flowers have been sanded along the edges and detailed with penwork. Stems and leaves were cut out using Fiskars Soft Touch Scissors and also detatiled with penwork. Co-ordinating ribbon has been stapled onto the centre of the flowers. The bottom left hand corner of the layout features a Clear Overlay Shape. The edges of the layout have been sanded and detailed with penwork. Once again the layout has been finished off with journaling on a simple shipping tag.

Yep I am such a big fan of circles!! Use them so much on my pages. So when this months theme was focussing on shapes I knew I was going to have some fun with my pages.

This pages features one of my gorgeous friends Shelley and celebrates our new friendship.

The papers and embellishments are from the Heidi Grace Sweetest Bug collection.

The photo is highlighted with using Clear Overlay Shapes.

The circles have all been handrawn and cut out using both Fiskars Soft Touch Scissors and the Fiskars Fingertip Control Craft Knife. The edges of the circles have been detailed with penwork. The edges of the layout has been sanded and has more penwork around the edges. Strips of co-ordinating paper have been cut and used as a border for the photo. The layout is finished off with journaling on a simple shipping tag with a ribbon. (I ♥ shipping tags!!!)
